Berlin, May 28th 2019: UCCON by TEAMOBILITY honored with the German Innovation Award 2019 in Gold

PRESS RELEASE______________________________________________ 29 MAY 2019 TEAMOBILITY honored with German Innovation Award in Gold For the second time yesterday evening, on May 28, 2019, the award winners of the German Innovation Award were honored at a festive gala in the Technikmuseum in Berlin. More than 350 invited guests from business, politics and the media accepted the exclusive invitation. The winner of the innovation prize is the German Design Council, which was founded in 1953 on the initiative of the German Bundestag.  The winners of the evening included TEAMOBILITY. The Böblingen-based company impressed with its UCCON platform chassis for commercial vehicles and was awarded the German Innovation Award in Gold in the »Excellence in Business to Business – Automotive Technologies« category.  Urban supply and modern mobility demand networked system solutions, hybrid lightweight construction and clean drive platforms. The multi-modal UCCON ecosystem from TEAMOBILITY enables a resource-saving life cycle, as valuable components of the rolling chassis and the lightweight structure hold across three model generations and only used body and interior components need to be replaced in a modular way. The patented Boatster chassis guarantees the secure integration of all future drive and energy systems.  »The multimodal UCCON Ecosystem is a universal platform chassis for electric vehicles that enables a resource-saving lifecycle over three model generations. Since only bodywork and interior components need replacing, the system dramatically reduces costs and emissions in production. An exciting innovation with a high relevance for the sustainable supply and networked mobility in urban areas, “according to the jury of the German Innovation Award. With the German Innovation Award, the German Design Council honors pioneering innovations that have a lasting effect and offer added value for the user. There were a total of 695 submissions, including industry giants such as Samsung, Bosch of Deutsche Telekom and the Swiss concern ABB as well as hidden champions and start-ups.  »User evaluation focuses on the evaluation of the submitted innovations. It is the distinguishing feature of the German Innovation Award, “explains Andrej Kupetz, Managing Director of the German Design Council. “This is especially successful if future users are involved in product development at an early stage. Many companies have recognized this and rely on appropriate methods to develop an optimal product. “  The German Innovation Award is awarded in the two competition classes: Excellence in Business to Consumer and Excellence in Business to Business. In addition, a winner was identified in the additional category “Design Thinking”. The jury awarded the Gold, Winner and Special Mention awards in a total of 40 categories.  So was rated The evaluation criteria of the German Innovation Award include topics such as the level of innovation, user benefit and profitability. The innovation strategy should consider aspects such as social, environmental, economic sustainability and the use of energy and resources. Factors such as location and employment potential, longevity, market readiness, technical quality and function, materiality and synergy effects also play a decisive role in the jury process. The winners were chosen by a top-class jury – including physicists, patent consultants, computer scientists, finance specialists, product designers, technology historians and Marketeers. “In doing so, we guarantee an individual, neutral and professional rating,” says Kupetz.  Design Council – the promoter The German Innovation Award was initiated and carried out by the German Design Council, which was established in 1953 by the German Bundestag and donated by the Federation of German Industries. For more than 66 years, the Foundation has pursued the goal of promoting the competitiveness of German companies. With his competitions, exhibitions, conferences, seminars and publications, he makes a decisive contribution to knowledge transfer around the topic of design, innovation and brand. The founding board of the German Design Council currently has over 300 domestic and foreign companies employing more than three million people.

ORGATEC 2018 (Oct. 23rd – Oct. 27th 2018, exhibition Cologne) TEAMOBILITY and WAGNER demonstrate their mobile office
TEAMOBILITY and WAGNER (a brand of TOPSTAR GmbH) present jointly UCCON with the slogan “Move your life”. In close cooperation, both partners created an innovative solution for the mobile office and tomorrow’s driver’s seat. It was demonstrated how ergonomic insights and experiences from the office sector have been incorporated into the design of a future, highly ergonomic and flexible driver’s seat. Cross-industry creativity and “seamless cooperation” were the decisive success factors for the design of the “moving office”. The great interest and the consistently positive response showed that such innovative “corporate solutions” meet the current and future needs of the market.

IAA Commercial Vehicles 2018 -> TEAMOBILITY presented UCCON!
The IAA 2018 has closed its doors. Together with its partners, TEAMOBILITY has successfully presented and discussed UCCON, a solution for the ultra-low-emission, and light commercial vehicle of tomorrow. The large and consistently positive response from various industries underlines that the time is ripe for the implementation of such a concept. A real eye-catcher at the IAA was the prototype UCCON design demonstrator. It was created with the participation and designs of FORM3 and designmanufacture and was realized by PROCEDA and WAGNER. Together with the technology partners CTC & CFK-Valley, STEP / G and above all GIF-E with the much admired world novelty, the IKV-AXMOT engine, accents were set far beyond sectors. A kind of real laboratory not only showed visionary concepts and innovative products, but also demonstrated prototypically industrialized system solutions. TEAMOBILITY’s platinum partner Hörmann Automotive in cooperation with Schaeffler and Röhling excellently demonstrated this successfully with the example of a LCV rolling chassis. It was also this broad variety that aroused great interest after the announcement of the planned IAA appearance of a consortium “From conception to the realization of new ways for urban mobility”.
